Boy Meets Girl Shoes

So this manstyle trend is just not going away. Boyfriend style jeans, preppy blazers and grandpa cardis and still staples in a true fashionistas wardrobe and it seems that this trend is going to be around for a while. The above pic is from a report that the whowhatwear  girls did a while back, showing the celebrity early adopters of this look.

On my last trip to London & New York in Sept brogues where everywhere in the stores! And it was quite overwhelming how many versions of this trend had been interpreted: from pretty bow laces to no laces, plain clean black leathers to metallics and combination fabrics. various toe shapes and heel treatments. Probably my fave pair spotted were these soft gold metallic and camel leather combo at River Island. 

And the trend continues for Summer with many designers showing this look in their catwalk shows. Here are some pics for inspiration:

Then what I am seeing as an emerging trend that is a move on from the oxfords and brogues is the moccasin.  Again seen in the spring summer catwalks and starting to appear at retail. These also come in many versions, heeled and flat, casual and smart. This is a look that should be tested, because if the oxfords are anything to go by, this is a look that will be around for a while.
